We've been settling in, buying furniture, having visitors, making new friends and the time has just flown by. We were blessed by visits from Zoe, then Nick and Judy for a few days, followed by Stephanie and Erin. Missed George and Chris and Kevin! Sam & Roberta popped in one day.
Stephanie was hobbling around on crutches after ankle surgery but that didn't stop her from sitting on our front deck and flying a kite!
The weather here, according to long time residents, was more foggy and cool than usual during the summer, especially when we had guests! The fog was followed by many sunny days. We've had our first rain storms of the winter, with much more to come. But, we've had a majority of sunny days since early September. Overall, similar to Santa Barbara except with more dramatic swings in temperature. Some summer days in the 50's and some in 100's!
Helga is settling in with new friends making crafts, playing bridge and other card games. George is trying to keep in shape (get in shape) mostly by Nordic Walking with friend Jim, down to the Harbor and back.
We will be heading towards Santa Barbara in early November for medical visits and touching base with friends. A couple of stops for maintenance, repairs, etc. on the SeeYa. We hope to see Nick's gang around Thanksgiving and head back to Brookings in early December.
We were hoping to get back east and spend some time with Stephanie's family around Christmas but until Helga gets healed from her injury flying and climbing stairs won't be a good idea.
