2012 going, going, gone.....

Wow, another year flies bye!!!  We were again blessed with a wonderful year with the ability to travel and see people and places, both new and old. January found us already “On the Road Again” in the San Diego area where we spent a month starting in mid-December. From there we journeyed to San Simeon for our annual RV get together and re-union with good friends.

After some time in Santa Barbara, February and March found us at Emerald Desert Resort in Palm Desert where we had a great time including visits from the Urwicks and Frosts. Returning to the San Diego area, we met up with Stephanie, Kevin and Erin and together we visited Sea World, the San Diego Zoo and several attractions at Balboa Park. Since they live in New Jersey, it is always wonderful to have a chance to be together.

After a stay in Clovis with Nick, Judy, George, Chris, Jeni and Zoe we finally returned home in late April. We zipped to Clovis for Zoe’s graduation from high school in June, can you believe it?

Leaving the coolest summer in Brookings according to longtime residents, we joined the Frosts, Melvilles and Jensens in August for a river cruise on the Danube and further exploring in Munich, Salzburg, Budapest, Prague and Vienna. What a wonderful fun experience it was with beautiful weather, great friends, good food and “gutes bier!”

After a short stint at home we headed south, stopping in Eureka to help friends Angelo and Paula celebrate his 80th birthday, then off to Santa Barbara, Clovis and then Lake Tahoe where our planned two weeks was shortened by several days due to an impending snowstorm. Chains on the motorhome are avoided at all costs!

The main purpose of the trip was Chris and Jeni’s wedding on November 3, which was held
at Wolf Lakes, east of Clovis and was a big, outstanding affair and was very enjoyable. After spending a couple of days with Steph, Kevin and Erin in Monterey it was time to head home to Brookings where we arrived just in time for the first winter rains!!!!

Hoping that all is well with you! Merry Christmas and a healthy, happy new year!!!!
