The Rogue River

Our first stop after leaving our pit stop at home in Brookings is 35 miles or so up the Oregon Coast and inland seven miles from Gold Beach on the North Bank of the Rogue River.  Four Seasons RV Resort is one of our long time favorites.  We first stayed here in one of our first motorhomes around 1980.  The site where we are parked in the picture wasn't even built back then as the original owners thought it got flooded too often in the winter.  After a while they did build six motorhome sites and we have stayed here with standing reservations for many years, losing out after moving to Brookings and being on an extended trip and overseas two years in a row.  This is the first time staying here in the spring and we are blessed with wonderful weather.  Friends Elwyn and Judy Bowker just arrived from Brookings today.  We first met them here in 2005 and in 2006 they moved to Brookings, told us about the place where they were, and then in 2008 we followed them there.

Dawna, the owner with help from Jim and Jean, keep the place looking great.  They're great hosts and George didn't have to beg too much to get some salmon to barbecue!  We plan on staying here at least three nights but the weather might keep us here longer!
