Great views, food and fun!

On one of our last few days at Southwest Harbor found us heading to Northeast Harbor to catch a Sea Princess cruise around the neighboring islands.  It was beautiful and interesting with narration by our guide, Bill.  He spoke very definitively, describing points of interest and the history of the area.  However, he pointed out that a certain percentage of what he said was true and he made up the rest!

A Summer Cottage!

Another day, after driving up to the Acadia National Park Visitor Center we caught an LLBean Island Explorer bus and rode to the Jordan Pond House where it is very tough to find a parking space.  We put our name on the list and had to wait about 30 minutes to be seated.  We had chosen first available and ended up sitting at an inside window seat which turned out to be a good choice as it was quite windy outside.  Such a beautiful setting and the meal was delicious including the featured popovers!

On our last night at Southwest Harbor we ate at Fiddlers' Green Restaurant which, in a beautiful setting, served wonderful local farm-fresh food.

On Sunday, August 18, we headed to Belfast's Moorings Campground situated right on Belfast Bay.  We stayed here three years ago and loved it.  The setting reminds us of Four Seasons RV Resort on the Rogue River in Oregon, one of favorite places.

We explored Belfast some and drove down the coast to Camden twice.  We've eaten at Cappy's Chowder House several times in the past and made a return visit, this time to the new Harbor View Restaurant which is the same menu.  We both enjoyed Cappy's Fish Chowder which was very good.  They used to serve a seafood chowder with a RED base that apparently is against Maine chowder law and it isn't on the menu any more!  :(

Moorings Oceanfront Camping

In Belfast we ate at Delvino's Grill & Pasta House two times, getting our Italian food fix!  The view and setting at Moorings kept us there.....
