After six and a half weeks in Maine we're starting our trek South. Our last couple of weeks started out with a backtrack to Ellsworth. Why Ellworth? Well, it seems that the pilot had some technical difficulties maneuvering the "ship!" The whole idea for this trip was to do it while we still could manage something this big. Maybe we're getting there? lol....... While at Southwest Harbor Campground we were instructed to drive a certain way to our site. When approaching a narrow portion of the road with a tree close on the right and a pile of dirt and rocks on the left what should have been done is to stop, unhook the car, and back up out of there! But the pilot, George, thought he could make it.......well, we didn't! Damaged the main awning and the rear slide-out awning in the process. Lesson learned? I hope so!!!!

In Ellsworth we stayed at Forest Ridge Campground, while nothing special, a comfortable place and a half mile from the repair facility so they came to our site to make the repairs. We explored the area some including a trek that took us over the Penobscot Narrows Bridge which is quite dramatic.

We then spent a few days at Shore Hills Campground outside of Boothbay Harbor which included a stop for Lobster Rolls at the rustic Trevett Country Store.

The next week brought us to a repeat stay at Wild Duck Adult Campground in Scarborough. The owner gets calls regularly wanting to know if it is a nudist campground which it isn't. One young lady wanted to know it was at least all right for her to go topless but he suggested she wouldn't be too comfortable doing that! The adult part of the name is that it is not a family campground which means it is nice and quiet.
It was so nice to see long time friend Jytte for lunch one day in Kennebunkport and spend time with her at her home in Alfred.

It was also great to see friends Dick and Shirley in Freeport. We know each other from Santa Barbara CBMC, saw them in the spring in Palm Desert and now in their native Maine!

| On the catamaran |
From Maine we drove to Foxboro, south of Boston and stayed at Normandy Farms for a week. While there we drove in to Boston one day spending time at Faneuil Hall including lunch at Quincy Market. Another day we decided to visit Cape Cod and while deciding what to do there saw that the number one rated thing on Trip Advisor to do was Cape Cod Scenic tours. This is a small van tour operated by Des and Terry, husband and wife team. We decided to do it and thoroughly enjoyed it. The particular tour we took was the Land and Sea Tour which included an hour on a catamaran out of Hyannisport which was beautiful and interesting. The land portion was about seven hours and while not including the whole cape (didn't go to Provincetown) was also beautiful and interesting and fun with the commentary by Des and Terry. We also visited friends Frances and Bill in Salem, NH whom we met "on the road" in 1994. It was fun catching up with them again.

Down the coast a bit found us in East Lyme, Connecticut where we stayed at Aces High Campground. We visited Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun casinos, unbelievable! We also drove to Mystic, Stonington and Watch Hill, RI which were very charming.
We are now staying in Hatfield, Pennsylvania at the Village Scene Mobile Home & RV Park which is about an hour west of our daughter Stephanie's home. We will be here for two weeks while we visit with Stephanie, Kevin and Erin.
