We left Palm Desert as planned in late February and headed to Clovis/Fresno and spent eight days there spending time with Nick, Judy, George, Chris, Jeni and Zoe. We had a good time topped off with a "surprise" party for Nick's 50th birthday. The surprise got spoiled when a co-worker asked him how it was, thinking it was the week before!
We then returned to Emerald Desert RV Resort because Helga had scheduled knee replacement surgery in this area after getting a second opinion from Dr. Boghosian who very carefully explained her situation and the surgery. The surgery was performed at JFK Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, March 8, and she is back "home" rehabbing which includes walking with a walker presently two times a day. She is doing quite well and we are hoping the rehab is quick and smooth so we don't have to be down here when the days get a lot warmer. Currently the highs are in the 80's, sunny and clear days.
