We had planned to leave this coming Sunday but yesterday's excitement changed all that. Prior to yesterday we had the windshield on our "Toad" replaced. ("Toad" is what most motorhome owners call their towed vehicle.) A few days before a rock or something struck the windshield creating a small hole, followed by a crack that grew well over a foot long. Made an appointment and got that taken care of on Tuesday.
Yesterday afternoon we decided to head down to the Coeur d'Alene Casino which is about 1/2 hour south of here so Helga could get her gambling fix. About five miles before the casino we were traveling about 65 miles an hour in the #1 lane when Helga let out a gasp. Right in front of us bounding across the highway from our left to right was a large deer. It was so close that George hit the brakes to no avail. As you can see from the picture it made it part of the way but not enough.

| Deer v. Edge = DRAW...... |
According to the Idaho State Patrol officer, he hit one a couple years back in the same area, with his cruiser. The highways around here aren't even posted for deer crossings. They're all over....
So now, the Edge is in the body shop, we have a rental car and won't be heading east until a about a couple of weeks. The good news is that we could have been in a worse place than here which, again, is beautiful. Also, since we don't have a fixed schedule, we will just roll with it, accepting it as happening for a reason. We are taking advantage of the time to check out a couple of medical issues as well exploring more of the area than we originally planned.
Today in San Diego, our oldest grandson, George, and his mom, Judy, are getting their diplomas for their Master's degrees in Education from National University. We're so proud of them both and sorry we couldn't be there to help them celebrate.

Wow...that is way too much excitment! But staying a few weeks more will be okay. Will give you more time to relax and remember to breathe...in and out! jb
