Well here we are, praying that the third time does it! On Wednesday we went back to Hubbard, Ohio and waited, and waited for our overnight delivery alternator. It finally came several hours late and then we had to wait some more. It was a cold, wet day but thankfully we were cozy albeit crowded in the motor home with the slide-outs in. When they finally got to it, it was mid-afternoon. Although they couldn't confirm that it was a bad alternator, they replaced it with my encouragement because others had reported similar symptoms on the Tiffin forum. Well, what do I know? Not much! After they were finished we hooked up the car to return to the KOA. On the way back, after a few miles, sure enough, low voltage warnings again and on with the generator to make sure we made it.
When we arrived at the RV park, after stopping at the office, I couldn't get the rig started. Thankfully, it did start while I was talking to the Tiffin tech. He called me back later and said he had arranged for me to return to the Hubbard facility again so they could trouble-shoot it with him on the line. Okay, so after a long, cold, wet day we crashed early last night. It was so bad that day that while we were waiting for them to get started on the rig and we couldn't get to our food stores very easily, we went to have lunch at a Waffle House!
Today we arose early again and made the run to Hubbard for the second time. Even though the service writer told me we would be plugged in where he could fit us, as the day before, for some reason, thank you Lord, the tech knocked on our door half an hour after we got there, while we were eating our cereal.
With contact from the Tiffin tech they decided there were two possible causes for the problem. The Tiffin tech will overnight parts for tomorrow morning and he had the Cummins tech bypass the two parts so that we could test drive it today and tomorrow to make sure something else wasn't causing the problem. We returned to the KOA with no symptoms during the noon hour. It was a beautiful sunny day in the mid-70's. After we set up the rig we, you guessed it, found a great place to have a late lunch. Rachel's Roadhouse, just down the road from the Iron Bridge Inn and owned by the same folks, was wonderful. Helga had a Salmon Salad with Balsamic Blue Cheese dressing and I had a Sirloin Salad, with french fries(!) go figure. And it was excellent! And, oh, the diet suffered even more, Peanut Butter Cream Pie! We split it though!
After lunch, we went a few miles to Volant which has a collection of craft and gift shops that Helga enjoyed very much. Again, the countryside around here, especially today was beautiful, green grass and trees, white houses, red brick houses, ponds, barns, blue-blue sky and white puffy clouds.
You know, we've been blessed to travel this way for a long time and I guess it has shown the last couple of days. Having a problem that messes up your plans is no fun. We have reservations on the other side of Pennsylvania near the Delaware Gap that were supposed to start yesterday. We prepaid for our stay. We're not sure if they will refund for our unused time. Sitting around waiting isn't too much fun. We've seen people in these situations getting irate, etc. But, it isn't worth it. We're just thankful that we are able to travel this way! Lord willing we will be on our way tomorrow, if not we'll see what the plan is.

Sorry about your delay. BTW, we are on the Norcold recall list. Called them and it will take a week just to get the part, so we are having them send to Valdez. We made reservations there to start on Thursday. It will take us 3-4 days to get there. They told us to turn off the unit. Yeah, we can do that...NOT. So, will head out on Monday, stay somewhere along Kluane Lake, then cross the boarder into Alaska (again), stay in Tok, then one more night in Glennallen. Next day, drive another beautiful highway into Valdez. Wish us luck! Wishing you the same.
